- Laboratorio Athena organizes a competition for writing an original paper.
- The competition is open to students attending the first and second level of courses at any University of European Countries.
- Competition topic: Innovative proposals for increasing ecological consciOusness
- Before1st MARCH 2020 each student wishing to participate must send a message to following mail addresses: info@laboratorioathena.org and mariopagliacci@libero.it, declaring his/her engagement in the competition.
- The participation to the competition is reserved to the first 20 (twenty) students declaring their wish to participate according to previous point 4).
- Basic admission requirements:

- Each paper should be signed by no more than 2 (two) authors.
- Papers should be written in English and should have a maximum length of 8 (eight) pages (including notes and bibliography).
- Editing rules to be adopted:
- Times New Roman 12;
- Line spacing 1,5;
- Margins: Right and left sides 2 cm; bottom side, 2,5 cm;
- Footnotes: Times New Roman 10.

- After the bibliography, there should be: Author(s)’ name and surname, University, Personal identification code, Email address to be utilized for all communications concerning the competition.
- Papers should be submitted exclusively in PDF and sent no later than 1st APRIL 2020 to following mail addresses: info@laboratorioathena.org and mariopagliacci@libero.it .
- The paper must respect following obligatory structure: title, author(s), abstract, text, bibliography.
If one of the requirements is missing, the paper will be excluded.
- Members of Laboratorio Athena and Professors of invited and participating Universities will be part of the evaluation board. They will evaluate the paper and award first, second and third positions. In the case of equal scores will be preferred the paper having the higher score in the first evaluation criteria (see below). Mentions of honour can be assigned to other papers.
- Results will be communicated by email directly to the ones awarded not later than 20th April 2020. Information will be published on www.laboratorioathena.org.
- Special diploma will be assigned to the first three winners. Diploma of participation will be given to all the authors. Sponsors, if any, could assign special prizes.
- Laboratorio Athena reserves the possibility to organize an event offering to all participants – even if not awarded – the possibility to present their papers live or by videoconference.
- Laboratorio Athena reserves the right to cancel the competition if the conditions for continuing it no longer exist. If the unfortunate event occurs, prompt notice will be given to all the author/s and nothing will be due by the organisers to those who have already submitted their paper.
- Each author/s is/are responsible for not violating any law, in developing his/her/their paper. Any intellectual property right directly related to the content of the submitted paper remains exclusively with the author/s.
- The evaluation board will adopt the following criteria to fulfil the evaluation process.
CRITERIA FOR PAPERS EVALUATION
Each evaluator will give a score in a range from 1 (minimum) up to 5 (maximum) – for each of the following criteria:
- Coherence with the topic and quality of the paper
- Author’s original thinking
- Correctness and adequateness of the bibliographic sources
- English fluency
